ABOUT

Committed to service

For those of you who do not know me, I’d like to tell you about myself and why I am running for Woodland Park City Council in 2026.

My family and I moved here about 5 years ago from Omaha, Nebraska. My wife Kelli and I were seeking a better place to raise our two boys, and we found it here in Woodland Park. Though I had visited Woodland Park from Parker, Colorado in the 1990s, it was after a road trip in 2020 with my family that we fell in love with this community. We sought a slower paced existence and a closer-knit community from what we knew in Omaha. Visiting Woodland Park felt like a time machine back to a simpler existence where community cared, you knew your neighbors, and kids could roam free on their bicycles during the summer months. Everywhere we went, we were greeted with friendly smiles and warm personalities.

After choosing Woodland Park as our “forever home” in 2020, we quickly made plans to relocate to the “City Above the Clouds” in the spring of 2021. As involved parents in Omaha, we continued that habit of volunteering in our children’s schools and the community. From roles as classroom parents, to Junior Achievement volunteers, to soccer and basketball coaches for Parks and Rec, we dove right in to contribute to our new community. For me, this included volunteering on the Woodland Park Middle School – School Accountability Committee and parent organization along with serving on the WPSD District Accountability Committee as its chairman. My experience there showed me that when people choose to get involved, they can make a difference in the community. I was fortunate to meet so many amazing neighbors and people from Teller County during a campaign for the WPSD board of directors and the call to service I felt then has been with me since.

I again felt that call to service in 2025 to fill a vacancy on the Woodland Park City Council. Through my experience after being appointed to that body, I have done my best to represent my neighbors and the citizens of Woodland Park. As a councilmember, I have always put the needs and best interests of our city first and I will continue to do so if elected. I have no other motivator, special interest, or agenda than Woodland Park when I sit on the dais. Our community is unique and special, and I aim to preserve the character that sets Woodland Park apart.  I support the responsible and sustainable development of our city while expanding and investing in the open spaces and recreational opportunities that Woodland Park is known for. I understand the threats to our community found in wildfire and the need to manage our water resources for the future generations who choose this place as home.

As your City Council member, I will always put Woodland Park first. Our residents, our businesses, and our shared values are what matters to me when I vote. With your input and consent, I will proudly represent your voice and vision in local government. Thank you for supporting me in this effort.
